Lahád is a growing directory of resources for Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in the Philippines, currently including psychiatrists, clinics, and reading materials. The Filipino word lahád means pagbubukas ng palad (opening one’s palms), reflecting an offering for people with OCD, while also drawing from “exposure” in Exposure and Response Prevention, the gold standard treatment for OCD. Through Lahád, OCD Pilipinas aims to give visibility and provide a platform to various OCD professionals and treatment options, with the goal of making information about OCD treatment more accessible to Filipinos.
OCD Pilipinas is a non-profit organization that provides resources and support for Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in the Philippines and for Filipinos worldwide. Advocating for OCD awareness and recovery, we produce infographics, serve as a resource for mental health events, support student research, organize OCDare to Share (an in-person gathering for open conversations about OCD based on the International OCD Foundation), and facilitate Yakap, our monthly peer support group for Filipinos with OCD. We envision a society where quality mental healthcare is accessible and affordable, and where everybody and every body is able to live fulfilling lives in a communal society.
